Corporate Sustainability Stewardship Awards

PSU Category

HPCL has been engaged in a variety of activities to holistically integrate the economic, ecological and social responsibility objectives into the sustainable development plan of the Company.

Automotive Category

  During last three years, KOEL have reduced their Specific Energy Consumption by 10-12% even though there are additions in equipment’s loads due to capacity expansions, and also have used renewable energy sources to fulfil upto 35% of their total electricity requirement.

Manufacturing Category

38.1% of ITC’s energy requirement in 2013-14 was derived from renewable sources. About 93.9% of the renewable energy at ITC is derived from biomass, 5.9% from wind and the remaining from solar.

MNC with India Operations Category

  Schneider Electric (SE) launched a companywide program Schneider Energy Action (SEA), aimed at reducing energy consumption at its factories, offices and warehouses, greater than 5000 m2 in area, by 10% over a 3 year period. In addition, 10 Schneider facilities, including the company headquarters at Gurgaon, have achieved ISO 50001 certification, the global standard in energy management.

Technology, Utility and Services Category

   ITC Windsor, Bangalore is one of the first hotels in the world to receive US-GBC United State Green Building Platinum certification and has remained carbon positive (for last 6 years), water positive (for last 9 years) and solid waste recycling positive. It also meets 100% of its electricity requirements through its own 21 MW wind energy power plant.

Sustainability Innovation Challenge Awards

Cost effective resource monitoring systems which control and display usage enabling customer to proactively pursue resource sustainability practices

      Maven Systems has developed an innovative wireless smart metering technology allowing for accurate electricity meter data collection. The solution comprises of a hybrid of RF communication for local area network and GPRS communication for communication across cities; thus facilitating  two-way communication between every meter and data management software.

Innovative Energy Efficient Product

    Skyshade has an innovative range of daylighting products which capture sunlight and deliver the light in buildings without converting solar energy into electricity. These daylighting solutions reduce the energy demand and improve the health of building occupants.
 

Zero liquid discharge system for industrial wastewater treatment to create closed loop systems

       SepraTECH has membrane based solutions for separating water from waste water and putting it back into the process. It offers process applications where different types of membranes are used to recover either the product, by product or raw material from the effluent stream which otherwise is either drained off or treated as waste.

Proven solutions for manufacturing sustainable products 

       Pratibha Syntex has developed Viscose Allure fabric which consumes ~85% less water and 35% less energy, due to the spun dyed fibres. Additional product performance features include better colourfastness and Lower pilling grade (spun dyed viscose fabrics vs. conventional), excellent drape and spirality and better breathability.

Electronic Waste Management Solutions

    SIMS has developed an innovative model of maintaining a portal http://www.ewaste.in which serves a dual purpose of encouraging individual consumers to improve their green footprint by engaging in electronics reuse and recycling.

Cleantech Solutions to enable Consumer Engagement towards Sustainable mobility

      Clean Motion has developed an innovative electric three wheeler, called Zbee, driven by lithium ion battery. In a single charge, Zbee travels 50 km with a maximum speed of 45km/hr and can carry two passengers. The charging time of the battery from zero to full capacity is four hours and Zbees conform to the EU safety standards and are EU approved.
 

Sustainable mobility apps and services to enable Consumer Engagement

      It offers a technological solution available on mobile phones called SearchCarpool.com that bridges the gap between daily needs and sustainable solutions. This is a unique platform for commuters to interact with potential carpool/ lift providers and vice versa, to plan a carpool/ rideshare, and ease their daily commuting hassles while also reducing emissions and thus decreasing environmental degradation.
 

Sustainable mobility apps and services to enable Consumer Engagement

 
CYCLERCITY is India’s first bike messenger company for corporates and individuals. Their bike messengers are spread across the city. As soon as they receive a call for a pick up, their nearest messenger picks up the package and delivers it at the desired address. 
 
   
Bicycle sharing system for Campuses and Indian Cities to reduce carbon foot print by deploying 100 cycles with around 5 stations in a 300 acre campus. Innovation: Entire Rental System including Billing, Stock Management, Rentals deployed on android phone.
 
 

Industry Sustainability Compass Awards

  The Climate Group India has taken path breaking efforts to encourage leadership on climate change by catalyzing actions for promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy through its LED Lighting and Bijli Program.
